Our Story
BLACKTRANSFER operates under Airport Cab, a company built from direct experience of what Swiss and international travellers actually need. The founders observed a consistent gap in the market: airport transfer and limousine companies that looked premium on the surface but delivered inconsistent service, unpunctual pickups, uncomfortable vehicles and chauffeurs with limited local knowledge. The response was straightforward — close that gap with a rigorously standards-driven operation.
We are headquartered at Blumenfeldstrasse 1, 8046 Zürich, within easy reach of Zurich Airport (ZRH), the city centre and the Swiss motorway network that connects us to Basel, Bern, Lucerne, Zug, Davos, St. Moritz, Zermatt and Geneva. We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, because travel does not conform to office hours.

Punctuality
In Switzerland, punctuality is not a virtue — it is a baseline expectation. We treat it accordingly. Every booking triggers automatic flight tracking at Zurich (ZRH), Geneva (GVA) and Basel EuroAirport (BSL), which means your chauffeur adjusts their arrival time in real time if your flight lands early or late. We include 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time at all airports. For non-airport pickups, our chauffeurs arrive at least five minutes before the scheduled time as a matter of professional discipline.
Discretion
Many of our clients are executives, public figures, families travelling with young children or individuals who simply prefer their privacy. Discretion is therefore not a marketing phrase for us — it is an operational standard. Chauffeurs do not discuss passengers, routes or conversations. Vehicles are equipped without ostentatious external branding that draws unwanted attention. What happens in the car stays in the car.
Safety
All BLACKTRANSFER vehicles are registered in Switzerland with Zürich (ZH) canton plates, serviced to manufacturer schedules and equipped with the latest passive and active safety technology. Our chauffeurs are fully licenced and hold the appropriate professional driving authorisations required under Swiss law. Mountain routes — including the approaches to Davos, St. Moritz and Zermatt — are driven by chauffeurs who know those roads in every season, including midwinter conditions when chains or winter tyres are legally required and often essential.
Comfort
Rest, work or simply decompress — the choice is yours. Every vehicle in our fleet is equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi, chilled still water, phone chargers and phone holders. The cabin environment is adjusted to your preference. If you need silence to prepare for a meeting, your chauffeur will provide it. If you prefer a brief conversation or a local recommendation, that is equally welcome.
What Makes the Service Premium
Premium is an overused word in the transport industry. We prefer to explain what it means in practice:
- Fixed, all-inclusive pricing. The fare quoted at booking — covering VAT, tolls, parking and airport waiting — is the fare you pay. There are no surge multipliers, no fuel surcharges added at checkout and no surprises.
- Meet & greet included. At airports, your chauffeur meets you in the arrivals hall holding a name sign. You do not navigate to a kerb, search a car park or make a phone call while managing luggage.
- No outsourcing. Every journey is operated by a BLACKTRANSFER chauffeur in a BLACKTRANSFER vehicle. We do not subcontract bookings to third-party drivers during peak periods.

Chauffeur Standards
A chauffeur is not simply a driver in a smart jacket. Every BLACKTRANSFER chauffeur is selected for professional driving ability, local knowledge, client-facing communication skills and temperament. The role requires someone who is simultaneously unobtrusive and attentive — alert to the passenger's needs without intruding on their time or space.
Training covers advanced driving technique (including winter Alpine driving), airport logistics, luggage handling, basic protocol for VIP and diplomatic clients, and data privacy. Language capability is taken seriously: our chauffeurs typically communicate fluently in English and German, with further language skills across the team.
Uniform standards are maintained year-round. Vehicles are cleaned and prepared before every journey. Chauffeurs do not use mobile phones for personal purposes during transfers, do not eat or drink in the client cabin and maintain the environment at a standard we would consider acceptable for our own most important journey.

We operate an entirely Mercedes-Benz-centred fleet, supplemented by two prestige alternatives, because that marque's combination of engineering rigour, passenger comfort and safety technology is, in our judgement, consistently best suited to Swiss roads and Swiss client expectations. Fleet composition evolves as new models become available. We do not retain vehicles beyond the point at which they represent the standard our clients deserve.

Sustainability
We recognise that premium ground transport and environmental responsibility are not mutually exclusive goals. Our current fleet includes plug-in hybrid and mild-hybrid variants where available within each model line, reducing urban fuel consumption and emissions without compromising range or passenger comfort on longer Alpine routes. We monitor fleet emissions data and apply it to procurement decisions as the market for fully electric luxury vehicles matures and Swiss charging infrastructure develops sufficiently to support reliable long-distance service.
We also take a practical approach to journey efficiency: matching the right vehicle size to each booking avoids operating an eight-seat van for a solo traveller, which matters both economically and environmentally.
